Reflections on Utopia

Summer ’22

Sometimes I like to be lost, when one is lost, one is be- ginning to explore, when one explores, one discovers, when I discover, I am inspired. So it happened on my way from Munich to Berlin, stopping at a place, which did not seem to belong to this world, close to Dessau. I visited the Bauhaus and was immediately ‘reamazed’ by their way of truly sustainable thinking, having very similar problems, which are reflecting in our world right now. Reflections… the Bauhaus artists had worked on it, I felt like working on the subject, as my first collec- tion has been more than well received and I feel great- ful. Then came in one of my favorite artists ANISH KAPOOR, watching the play ECTOPIA from Richard Siegal and the Wuppertaler Tanztheater, for which Ka- poor has done the scenery. Kapoor’s use of the mirror is at once personal and at the same time disorienting. We see ourselves in his work, but not as we have seen ourselves before. His work invites us to touch, to feel, and to experience a different world, a world which is unique to us and simultaneously shared with those around us. I would love the SOCIÉTÉ ANGELIQUE customer to experience that very same feeling, touching, feeling and experiencing the styles, being amazed by its uniqueness and… by wearing them, may be experiencing a different self, simultaneously shared with those around us. The prints are done by the artist Marcel Lunkwitz @marcellunkwitz_official and are a reflection on the prints of the first season in a beautiful manrayish manner.
